Adele gets the royal treatment If it were up to us Adele would win all the awards, so we heartily approve of the singer receiving a royal nod on Thursday. The Grammy-winning songstress was presented with an MBE medal from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace on December 19 in recognition of her (excellent) services to music. The medal places Adele as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, which is one of the highest honors a British citizen can receive. Her full title, according to The Independent, is now Miss Adele Adkins MBE. In a statement, Adele called the ceremony "a very proud moment," and one that was "very posh indeed." The 25-year-old has been off the radar musically, but after releasing the global phenomenon "21" it makes sense she'd want a break. We haven't seen hide nor hair of the skilled singer, except for the rare occasions she's been spotted out with her one-year-old son.
