In 2011 participants who completed the leadership development program will each
continue working with a small group of Samoan community members interested in an
action learning team project of their choice that contributes to improving livelihood in
their community. This way the program participants cascade their learning and
application to other community members to further develop and achieve sustainability
of the learning community they have helped to create. Here we see how, using
networking, action learning, action leadership and the enabling framework of GULL, a
university-community partnership has been true to both its goals and its title:
“Actioning change: a partnership with the Samoan Community to promote educational
opportunities for all”.
