A lucky New Jersey man was saved from spending a cold night in the woods when he was found by a furry, four-footed friend. Tom Fahner was hiking on Mount Gilmore last Saturday. He reached the top of the mountain and noticed that the sun was setting. "I knew I had to hurry to get down before dark." On the way down, Tom took a wrong turn and found himself lost in the deep forest. "I looked down and couldn't see the trail anymore," the hiker said. Tom called for help, but no one came, so he made a shelter with tree branches and decided to camp for the night. "It was too cold to sleep; I just tried to stay warm." Sometime during the night, Tom heard something running through the woods. It stopped in front of the shelter and started to bark loudly. It was Bruce Edwards's hunting dog, Rosco. The two were hunting. Rosco called his owner, who came to Tom's rescue and guided him back to the trail and down the mountain to safety.
