Often ignored are the facts that America’s own institutions are seldom perfect in these regards, and that other countries have different ways of doing things, that American institutions may not always be the most desired, appropriate, or even workable in other cultures and countries. It is small wonder that these U.S. efforts often breed resentment abroad, and that the United States is often disliked for its constant preaching and often heavy-handed meddling in the internal affairs of other nations.
