Several cholinesterase (acetylcholinesterases,
AChE, E.C. 3.1.1.7. or butyrylcholinesterases,
BuChE, E.C. 3.1.1.8.) inhibition methods for determination
of organophosphorus and carbamate
pesticides were developed lately. In the reaction of
cholinesterases with inhibitors, first an enzyme–
inhibitor complex is formed, which is subsequently
converted into an inactive phosphorylated
or carbamylated form of enzyme [4].
