A quantitative sensitivity analysis was conducted during Monte
Carlo simulation to further evaluate the impact of variation of parameters
on the ILCR by exposure to PAHs. The sensitivity analysis
results from a national scale were shown in the form of the
normalized Spearman's rank correlation coefficient (Fig. 4). The
results of the analysis indicated that the BaPeq concentration,
exposure duration (ED), ingestion rate (IR) and cancer slop factor
(SF) were the most influential variables for all the four age groups.
Therefore, more efforts should focus on improving the accuracy of
probability distributions of the above four parameters (BaPeq, ED,
IR, SF) to obtain a better estimate.
