In conclusion, we have developed a titania-based fluorescent
indicator-displacement molecularly imprinted sensor array. Using
titania as the imprinted matrix and only one fluorophore as the
indicator, the small array presented enough discrimination power
for discerning carboxylic acids and juice samples. By the spectrofluorimetric
titration and the comparison of the array sensing
and HPLC analysis, the discrimination power of the array was
believed to stem from the molecular imprinting and base on the
different profiles of carboxylic acids in different juices. Theoretically,
such kind of array can also be applied to other samples containing
carboxylic acids and other anions with high convenience.
Further studies to develop titania-based molecularly imprinted
sensor arrays for other kinds of analyte and sample are in progress
