Water-borne Diseases: Workers may be directly or indirectly exposed to water-borne diseases due to frequent contact with ponds. For example, leptospirosis (Weil's Disease), a disease associated with wet conditions, can be caught by workers in contact with water and feedstuffs contaminated by leptosprirosis-infected rat’s urine.[4] Leptospirosis can be fatal if not promptly and properly treated.
