German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in India on Sunday to attend the third Indo-German inter-governmental consultations (IGC). Merkel, who is on a three-day visit, is accompanied by a high-level delegation. The IGC, slated for Monday (October 05), will help advance bilateral partnership across the whole range of priority areas of mutual interest between the two countries. Merkel is likely to discuss trade, economy, security, clean energy and climate, among other key issues with the Indian leadership. She is also expected to pay tribute to iconic Indian freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi at his memorial, in New Delhi.
