According to questionnaire response both inmates and personnel were positive to this new way of sampling for drug testing. Another study of Yacobian and Cone in 2006 reported a similar response when oral fluid testing was compared with urine testing in a setting of adult probationers [10]. For unknown reasons oral fluid testing has not found use in Swedish prisons despite trials with on-site oral fluid test systems. From a practical point of view one advantage with breath over oral fluid and urine sampling could be that any problem with dry mouth or shy bladder is eliminated. Other positive statements from the personnel involved in the sampling process were: no need for transportation the special sampling facility used for supervised urine collection; less waiting time, personnel of both genders may survey the
sampling; reduced risk for conflicts provoked by the sampling process.
