KUALA LUMPUR: A restaurant worker claimed trial in the Sessions Court here to a charge of raping his girlfriend’s six-year-old daughter.
Kairuddin Md Rosly, 31, is accused of raping the girl, who was six years and 10 months old at that time of the incident, in a room of a house in Jalan Tiong Nam here between 5pm and 9pm on Nov 7.
He was charged under Section 376(2)(e) of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum of 30 years’ imprisonment and whipping, upon conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Tan Sew Ping did not offer bail.
Sessions Court judge Azman Mustapha later fixed Dec 22 for mention pending appointment of a counsel for Kairuddin, who was unrepresented.
