This study identified isolate P16 as a promising biocontrol agent against black rot. This isolateconsistentlysuppressedblackrotanddidnotreducecabbageseedlingemergencein pot experiments. The efficacy of the isolate across other cultivars and species of brassica remains to be investigated. The exact mechanisms underlying these biological responses have not, as yet, been determined and more research is needed to understand the mode of action of Paenibacillus isolate P16 in the suppression of black rot in cabbage.
