In a study to identify the reasons why students choose to study at Shelton under specialist diploma in tourism and hospitality and specialist diploma in business administration courses, suggested that students see the college as a cluster of attributes that includes teachers, facilities, and services. In addition, they found that the students’ choice of the courses major was based on the reputation of the courses program and the availability of a particular course of study. O’ Mahony et al. (2001) focused on three major motivational factors, including 1) students’ knowledge and interest in the hospitality industry, 2) the influence of their career and 3) their experiences as customers in the hospitality industry and business. Kim et al. (2007). Also, the reputation of the courses teaching faculty was important for students in choosing their major.
Today's challenging economy has been very harsh for students who are hoping to attend higher education to further their studies and hopefully, get better jobs upon graduating.
