In mid-1995 there were several knowledge
management initiatives at Hewlett Packard.
The Chief Information Officer and Vice
President decided to facilitate knowledge
management by holding a series of workshops
on the topic. The goal of the workshops was
to bring together a diverse group of people
who were already sharing knowledge or were
interested in the topic.
The workshop objectives were:
. sharing of knowledge through informal
networking;
. establish a common language and management
framework for knowledge
management.
