CODE OF CONDUCT
The Asean – China Commerce Association conducts its operations with honesty, integrity and openness, and with respect for the human rights and interests of its employees. ACCA shall similarly respect the legitimate interest of those with whom it has relationships. ACCA has a business principle as stated in the following dimensions.
Law
ACCA Board of Directors and employees are required to comply with the laws and regulations of Thailand and those of other countries in which they operate.
The Association will conduct its operations in a transparent way in accordance with internationally accepted principles of good corporate governance. Reliable information on its activities, structure, financial situation and performance will be provided timely, regular and to all stakeholders.
Business
Business ethics is a priority ACCA does not give or receive, whether directly or indirectly, bribes or other improper advantages for business of financial gain. No Board member or employee may offer, give or receive any gift or payment which is, or may be construed as being, a bribe.
ACCA Board as well as its individual Board members shall always strive to act in the best interest of the Association, bearing in mind its collective responsibility for its actions and behavior towards ACCA Members and third parties.
ACCA individual Board members shall avoid any conflict of ACCA and shall avoid any perceived or actual conflict of interest by declaring the circumstances to the ACCA Board as soon as it arises. ACCA individual Board members shall not gain directly or indirectly financially or in any other way from their position as ACCA Board member. ACCA individual Board members will avoid any relationship or activity that impairs or may impair ACCA Board’s ability to make objective, fair and unbiased decisions in carrying out its duties and activities
Public affairs
ACCA and its members promote and defend their legitimate business interests. ACCA will co-operate with the governments of Thailand and China and other organizations, both directly and through bodies such as trade associations, in the development of proposed legislation and other regulations which may affect legitimate business interests. ACCA individual Board members and employees will at all times make a clear distinction towards its Members and third parties when representing ACCA interests and when representing their personal interests. ACCA neither supports political parties nor contributes to the funds of groups whose activities are calculated to promote party interests.
Employment
ACCA will recruit and employ employees on the sold basis of the qualifications and abilities needed for the work to be performed; ACCA is committed to safe and healthy working conditions for all employees. ACCA respects the dignity of the individual and the right of employees to freedom of association.
Compliance & Sanction
Each Board member will sign this Code of Conduct for acknowledgment upon elected into office. Each ACCA employee will annually sign this Code of Conduct upon their performance evaluation. The code forms and integral part of the ACCA By-Laws. Failure to comply with any of the Code’s provisions may result in dismissal from The Board and or ACCA.
