Xylan has firstly introduced term as hemicellulose
It can be extracted from plant meterials
A structure of xylan is a complex polysaccharide comprising a backbone of xylose residues linked by beta-1,4 glycosidic bonds
Typically, it is heteropolymer of xylose monomeric unit that has a backbone of xylose unit and linked with L-arabinose, ferulic acid, glucoronic acid and acetyl D-xylose as shown in this figure.
