Team viability. Three items from the study by Bayazit and Mannix (2003) were
used. On a seven-point scale (1 ¼ totally disagree, 7 ¼ totally agree), the participants
rated the extent to which they agree with each sentence (e.g. “This team could work
well together for future projects”). Viability was measured in time 5. Exploratory factor
analysis revealed only one factor with 83.98 per cent of variance explained. The
three-item scale showed high reliability (a ¼ 0:90) which is consistent with the study
by Bayazit and Mannix (2003).
