P. pastoris is the most frequently used yeast system for heterologous protein production . Over 500 recombinant proteins have been expressed in P. pastoris systems to date, with protein production >10 g per L in some cases . In our previous study, the gene of a nonspecific Lipase GH1 (MDL) was successfully cloned from P. cyclopium and expressed in P. pastoris strain GS115 under the control of the AOX1 promoter. The enzyme activity reached 1500 U per mL in a flask containing the high-cost medium BMGY/BMMY. The combination of the enzyme with RML from R. miehei more efficiently catalyzed methanolysis of soybean, and the biodiesel conversion ratio for the combination was 30% higher than for the RML alone .
