Technology in the Social Studies Classroom is Inevitable
The pre-service teachers in this study understood instructional technology integration as a
growing part of their professional teaching practice. Question 1 on the study’s Likert scale
survey asks, “As a future teacher, how much educational technology, like the Timeliner software,
can you envision using for teaching about social studies?” In response to that question, 22 of the
23 or 96% of the participants indicated they would use educational technology, like Timeliner
“somewhat” or “to a great extent,” in teaching about social studies.
