According to Kunstel, et. al., 2010 HR policies are a guide in action, behavior or making any decision under a providing set of circumstance to make sure that the staffs follow consistency with the policies or management philosophy. HRpolicies have to be underpinning with the organizational policies, alight with the organizational practices and support with the legal. The HR policies are created by the needs of organizational (Doherty, 2014). However, recognizing only the needs doesn’t produce the fact. According to BLP, 2015 there is considerable development in evaluation, but it still remains the standard of evaluating the effectiveness of HR policies and processes, which are
• Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) statement (covering Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and relevant state discrimination law)
• Family and Medical Leave Act Policy
• Policy against harassment and the complaint procedure
The basis recommending improvement that effectiveness of HR policies should be considerate is the policies should be single up-to-date in order to lead all the staff in the right direction. Furthermore, the policies that HR policies should add it in for their organization improvement policies are:
• Paid time off policy
• Payroll practices & compensation policy
• Leaves of absence (non-FMLA) policy
• Performance evaluation policy
• Candidate referral program
• Discipline & Work rules policy
• Reference policy
