4. Kuehne + Nagel and e-freight
Kuehne + Nagel Limited introduced electronic house air waybills (KN e-HAWB) between export and import offices in 2010 and e-AWB with CX/KA in 2011. Kuehne + Nagel’s implementation is aligned with IATA e-freight standards.
A common challenge faced by freight forwarders implementing e-freight procedures is that some airlines are not ready to accept EDI messages and paperless processes. To reduce the complexity of these variable operational processes for their operational staff, Kuehne + Nagel has implemented modified procedures.
These procedures are not documented in this study, but for more details, contact IATA at e-freight@iata.org.
