The solution was diluted to 10 mL with distilled water, shaken, and allowed to stand for
20 min. The absorbance at 620 nm was converted into the amylose content
of starch by an amylose standard curve. The reducing sugar content
was measured with the DNS method (Miller, 1959). The approximate
content of amylopectin was estimated by subtracting the sum of amylose
and reducing sugar content from 100% starch (Auh et al., 2006).
