With the rapid increase in the world’s population it has become
a significant challenge to cope with the growing energy demand
especially in the developing world. In this situation agricultural
residue and animal manure are considered a promising resource
of renewable energy in the supply chain. Biomass is considered
as a continuous source of food, fodder and bio-energy which
constitutes about 10.2% of the total primary energy supply (TPES)
across the globe (Menon and Rao, 2012). Agricultural lignocellulosic residues are considered as one of the best feeding material
for the anaerobic digestion process to produce methane.
