Chromium oxide-pillared layered HMWO6 (M = Nb, Ta) was prepared through an ion-exchange route
with Cr(OAc)3 as a chromium-pillaring agent and n-propylamine as a pre-expanding agent. The pillaring
process and the structure of the pillared products were investigated. Our results indicated that the
concentration of Cr(OAc)3 solution affected significantly the intercalation performance of guest species
containing Cr in the interlayer regions. The photodegradations of rhodamine B by using the chromium
oxide-pillared layered products as catalyst were also investigated.
