The chief engineer must be assured that there is continuity in on-site knowledge when there is staff turnover within the department.
GMs must assure that training clauses are included in contracts and lease agreements, and the E&M staff are properly trained to assist guests in operation of in-room equipment amenities.
As well, the GM should assure that the property has at least a minimal number of guest room equipment items such as clock radios, DVD players, and telephones to replace items found to be in need of repair.
