developed a system with two outlet pipes attached with a Y joint and a mesh box to collect uneaten pellets.One pipe allowed water to run out of tank; the other was used to collect uneaten pellets. Helland et al. did not use a count method in their trial of Atlantic salmon. Although pumping the feed out did not disturb the fish, contact of uneaten feed with the pump had to be avoided to prevent its breakdown by the impeller. The location of the collector, as in our system, should allow collecting uneaten pellets before the water enters the pump.
