Analysis
Three types of questions were analysed: (a) questions requiring participants to
provide specific data about their district (for example, the percentage of children
receiving special education), (b) questions requiring a dichotomous (yes/no)
response to the existence of particular practices, and (c) questions in which participants
responded using a four-point Likert scale (15not at all important,
45very important). The percentage of valid responses across items ranged from
86% to 100% of the total sample. Comparisons of mean differences were conducted
using paired and independent sample t-tests. A factor analysis was conducted
to identify constructs representing the perceived importance of segregated
and integrated approaches. When considering measures of association, bivariate
correlations were performed, and a one-way MANOVA was conducted to examine
differences among different practices and participants’ ratings of the importance
of different organisational solutions (that is, segregated and integrated
approaches).
