The people’s Consultative Assembly (Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat or MPR) is the per house. It consists of members of the DPR and DPD and has a role in inaugurating and impeaching the president and in amending the constitution but does not formulate national policy. The house of Representatives or Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR) has 560 seats, and the members are elected to serve five-year terms. It formulates and passes legislation at the national level. The House of Regional Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Daerah or DPD), is constitutionally mandated and its role includes providing legislative input to DPR on issues affecting regions. It has 132 members, out of which four are from each of Indonesia’s 30 provinces , two special regions, and one special capital city district
