As these potential solutions are being documented, another team member
should be using a colored pencil or marker to mark up the Current State Map
with the ideas presented. In doing so, the person assigned to mark up the map
should draw directly on the Current State Map, on top of the existing icons, to
show how/what the changes look like. Only after all team members agree with
the item should it be added to the map. Figure 16.2 shows an example of this
type of markup.
Use the kaizen burst icon to show what must be done to make the change a
reality.
