3. Experimental setup and harmonic results
As previously mentioned, the installation of the fluorescentlamp can generate harmonics from the electronic ballast. The fluo-rescent lamps and ballasts are investigated and used with variouschanges in the experimental setup as shown in Fig. 3(a). The sin-gle line diagram of the experimental setup is shown in Fig. 3(b). Byconsidering the Fig. 4, the supply voltage is the single-phase whichis the power supply from laboratory at voltage level of 230 V. Forsafety reason, the fuse is used as protective device in the experi-mental test bench. For measurement of the electrical parametersand harmonics from the test bench, the energy meter (Fluke 435-II)is used; the current waveform can be captured from oscilloscopeas shown in Fig. 3(b). The experimental setup was constructedwith five racks; each is for the fluorescent lamps (T8 and T5 tubes)including two types of ballasts (electromagnetic and electronic) asshown in Fig. 4.
