4.29 Physical Security, Locking Devices and Key Controls
All external and internal windows, gates and fences must be secured with locking devices.
Management or security personnel must control the issuance of all locks and keys.
• All keys and similar devices for the buildings in which SCA has offices are controlled by the Building Security Department or management. Interoffice keys and similar devices are controlled by SCA’s General Affairs Department.
• The office building entrances and the office doors require pass cards, magnetic smart cards, or code numbers in order to obtain access to locked doors.
• Keys and other access devices are locked in a safe location with limited and carefully controlled access.
• Management ensures that keys and similar devices are made available only to those personnel with a demonstrated need and proper authorization.
• Human Resources and General Affairs are responsible for ensuring that keys and other access devices are returned at the termination of employment.
• Management will assess the need for re-keying, as necessary.
• Procedures are in place for regular inspection, maintenance, and replacement of locking devices.
