CGR and RGR
Crop growth rates (CGR) and relative growth rates
(RGR) were calculated for each year, P treatment and
sampling interval (Table 1). Crop growth rates were
significantly lower (P0:05) in the P0 treatments during
a period between about 200 and 700–800 C days after
sowing (Table 1). After flowering, CGR were identical
for all P treatments (data not shown). The RGR were
significantly lower in the P0 treatment during the early
stages of development (up to about 400 C days).
After 400 C days (9 visible leaf stage in P1.5), RGR
in P0 were identical or sometimes even higher than
those calculated in P1.5 and P3. However, differences
