This is a technical route of high difficulty, 21 km long and a climb of 1,200 metres, which takes around 9 hours.
The Estany Blau has an area of 2.1 ha. This hiking route takes us up the Madriu Valley with a large variety of natural habitats constituting one of the principality’s ecosystems. This is a circular circuit which starts and finishes at km 6.2 on the road to Engolasters (from Escaldes-Engordany), next to a car park. Here we will find an informative sign indicating the Camí dels Matxos (GR 11), which we will follow. The path levels out on a wide track until the Camí de coll Jovell. At this point, we continue on the left crossing forest areas to the Cap del Agols.
