PX25 modified with hydrophobic fumed silica powders showed no leakage of paraffin during mixing with cement and water to
produce thermal energy storage composites.
Two possible reasons may contribute to the minimization of paraffin leakage.
One is that the hydrophobic powder distributed uniformly on the surface of PX25 particles and then prevented the leakage of paraffin.
The other is that the hydrophobic powder could not prevent the paraffin leakage and just absorbed the exuded paraffin.
