When Susan came home from school, her dad was at work in the garden. Susan went to talk to him while he worked.
“How many rows does that make?” she asked.
“This is the tenth,” replied dad.
“My gosh” exclaimed Susan. “Mother shouldn’t be short of potatoes this year. Got your bean poles yet?”
“No, I won’t need to bother with bean poles this time. These new one bush beans stand up by themselves.”
Susan picked up the catalog from the basket. “Carrots, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, onions, lettuces. I’m surprised you have room for them all.”
“I haven’t,” her father said smiling. “I never grow cauliflower, and this ground isn’t suitable for onions.”
