the TTC suggests that these two subjective human
capacities form an interdependent construct that can be employed in coping.
With its roots in the tenets of humanistic, positive, and transpersonal
psychology, the TTC proposes the use of a combination of creativity and
spirituality as a universally applicable, positive coping strategy which can
be applied across the lifespan. Based on existing empirical evidence for
the health advantages of the individual concepts, presented in following
sections, the TTC posits that their combined benefits not only amplify the
strengthening of resilience, reduction of stress, and promotion of health and
wellbeing, but also afford the opportunity for personal growth and positive
transformation (Coleman, 1998; Miller & Cook-Greuter, 2000).
