The soil used in the present study (pH 7.7, organic matter 0.8%, sand 35.6%, silt 24.8%, and clay 39.6%) was collected from the surface layer (0–15 cm depth) of a wheat-cultivated field in the central Greece (04307473oN,00354535oE), with no pesticide application history.
