Identification of the domains of quality of life is an important
task that has been reasonably accomplished. However,
identification of domains has not remedied the problem of
conceptual confusion, nor has narrowing the field to variables
that are “health related.” Lack of precision in terminology
about quality of life has resulted in the use of same
terms to mean different things. The current need is for models
to clarify the critical elements of HRQoL and the causal
relationships among them.
