2.3. Numerical model
A finite element based commercial computational software, COMSOL Multiphysics® (Version 4.2, COMSOL Inc., Burlington, MA) was used to carry out the numerical simulation. The software was installed and run on a desktop computer (2.66 GHz Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU processor, with a 24.0 GB RAM). The physical domain was discretized into computational domain to solve the governing equations along with imposed boundary conditions, so as to numerically predict the temperature distribution in the frozen army menu box. Usual practices such as grid refinement and stringent convergence criteria were followed to ensure the consistency, convergence, and accuracy of the numerical solution.
