3.2.2. XRD studies
The X-ray diffraction pattern of NCFs displayed two well-defined characteristic peaks of cellulose at 2Ө = 15o
and 2Ө = 21.5o. Utilizing the X-ray diffraction data and equation, t = kk/BCosh, Sherrer’s calculation was attempted
to estimate average crystallite size in the sample, where t is crystallite size, B is the full width at half maxima, and k
is the wavelength of X-ray used (1.548 A_). The average grain size calculated from the Sherrer’s equation was 6
nm.
