Although antimicrobial VOCs produced by yeasts, such as Candida intermedia (Huang et al., 2011) and Sporidiobolus pararoseus (Huang et al., 2012), were reported to be effective in suppressing both the conidial germination and the mycelial growth of B. cinerea on agar media and in suppressing Botrytis diseases on plant tissues, to our knowledge the effect of VOCs produced by W. anomalus, M. pulcherrima and S. cerevisiae has not been investigated against B. cinerea.
