In 1929, American entered the Depression and by 1935 only 400 amusement parks remained opened but struggled to stay opened. The industry suffered even more damage by World War II, many parks closed down and some were stopped from adding new attractions because of the rationing. After the World War II, America and the amusement parks enjoyed postwar prosperity. Many people began to go to the amusement parks and the parks were restored. The kiddieland were introduced a new generation to the joys of the amusement parks but yet again it did not last.
