The antidiabetic effect of methanolic extract of Clerodendrum
multiflorum may be due to the presence of more than one
antihyperglycemic principle and their synergistic properties. In this
study, the antihyperglycemic activity caused by glibenclamide in
alloxan‐induced diabetic rats is an indication of the presence of
some beta cells, as glibenclamide is known to stimulate insulin
secretion from beta cells.
