Conclusions
The devolatilisation behaviour of four different tyre rubbers has been investigated. Using a TGA–DTA instrument the devolatilisation at five different heating rates have been performed. From the DTG curves it was concluded that the devolatilisation of the four rubbers consisted of two separate zones of weight loss (here termed as devolatilisation reactions). These were primary depolymerisation/condensation of the rubbers and (consecutive) degradation of the condensed product.
