This study was designed to simulate fire evacuation in a high-rise building with multiple occupancy by using Pathfinder. The objectives of this research were to calculate the number of users according to NFPA 101 standard and to compare the user behavior patterns of fire evacuation in a 36-storey building. The sample users of this study were 14,458 individuals. There were 7 fire escape ladders. Two primary options were used including: an SFPE mode and a steering mode. This study simulated fire evacuation in a high-rise building by moving people from danger to safe ground floor. Seven cases were determined for fire evacuation. When two simulation modes were compared, the results showed that with SFPE, it took average 92.10 minutes in evacuation time meanwhile with steering, it took average 80.96 minutes. The difference was 13.75%
