The current recommendations for
physical activity indicate that it is
important to avoid inactivity, and they
note that even modest amounts of
activity have health benefits. The
recommendations for adults include
either 150 minutes per week of
moderate-intensity physical activity, 75
minutes of vigorous-intensity physical
activity or some combination of the two.
It is recommended that children
accumulate at least 60 minutes of
moderate to vigorous physical activity a
day.
