Porous mullite/corundum ceramics with high compressive strength and low thermal conductivity were fabricated by foamgelcasting. Sintering temperature had significant effects on linear shrinkage, compressive strength and thermal conductivity. Thus, it is possible to adjust sintering temperature to compressive strength and thermal conductivity for potential applications in thermal insulation.
