used poly(vinyl pyrrolidone), PVP, to stabilize
silver nanoparticles during the synthesis, which were then
applied to a silk fabric surface by the exhaust method [11]. They
investigated antibacterial activity against the gram-positive bacterium
S. aureus on silk fabrics as well as the durability to washing.
The others examples of enhanced antibacterial activity are connected
with surface modification of the fabrics and subsequent
coating by silver nanoparticle sols synthesized mostly by the sol–
gel technique.
