The glove sizing systems developed in the present study are applicable to populations having similar anthropometric characteristics with the US Army military personnel. A sizing system constructed by using the anthropometric database of a certain population may not fit to other populations if their anthropometric characteristics are significantly different. Finally, of hand and glove measurements, the use of hand measurements is recommended to indicate glove sizes so that the user can easily find the proper glove size. It was identified that some glove manufacturing companies in Table 1 use glove measurements (e.g., 26.7 cm or above of HC for glove size categories, which is greater than the maximum of HC) for glove size designation. We suggest that the use of hand measurements is desirable for glove size designation if the design of gloves is based on hand anthropometric data.
