Given the limited number of studies to distinguish the two constructs of work- family conflict and perceived level of work-life balance , this study contributes to the work-family literature by providing support for the hypotheses that higher work-to-family conflict (WFC) would increase the perceived level of work-life balance. It means women employees assess their overall level of work-life balance to be low if work related stresses and strain affect their family lives. It seems logical given the kind of attachment and involvement Indian women show towards their family and family related responsibilities.
